Nux Design Christmas Tree by Nux Knit Design

As a tree hanger, gift tag or simply an interior accessory, you can probably turn out quite a few of this viral Knitstagram sensation. Without a strict gauge, Nux Knit Design’s Christmas Tree will help you bust your scrap bin. The free pattern is available in English and Danish and on their Instagram account, Kirsten Jørgensen has posted helpful videos on how to attach the string.

Tough & Toasty by Martina Behm

Need a quick gift for your super cool friend? 😎 Martina Behm, also known as strickmich, designed these fingerless mittens to keep hands warm and toasty. One pair uses up only half a ball (25 g) of yarn and can be finished in one or two nights of knitting. The unusual construction works (almost) without purl stitches and can be adapted to the recipient’s hand size during the knitting. The pattern is available in German and English.

Snowfall Town Hot Water Bottle Cover by Season Qian

Copyright: Season Qian

To cure the winter cold, the cozy Snowfall Town Hot Water Bottle Cover by Season Qian is the perfect handknit gift. While the pattern calls for holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together, you could easily use your favorite, wooly DK weight yarn to create the snowy landscape. Plus, it would make a great buster for your yarn stash!

Éclair scarf by Sari Nordlund

While I am truly a lover of the famous (infamous?) Sophie Scarf, Sari Nordlund’s Éclair scarf offers a more involved alternative that would make a quick, but impressive gift. Calling for a worsted weight yarn 3.5mm needles, this would be a great weekend project for a last-minute gift.

‘Tis the season for wintery headbands, perfect for keeping your ears warm without flattening your hair. I adore this simple, yet elegant, design. The fingering weight yarn held double with a mohair lace adds an ultra-luxe and cozy feel to this knit that’s not only perfect for stash-busting but offering an impressive gift to a loved one.
